Nadia Abdu-Rahman

Nadia is a mum of 3 and loves her job. She teaches at a local secondary school and also has the role of Cultural Lead at a large academy school in the area.

In addition, Nadia is on the management group of 2 charity organisations as well as managing her own charity.

Nadia teaches madrassah and when she can, loves to read.

What is your role as part of the trustees?

Nadia works alongside other trustees and with the centre manager as part of the Operational Management Group facilitating the smooth, efficient day-to-day running of the centre.

Why have you joined the board

Most of Nadia’s students and their families live in the area so she wants to be involved in helping to create a centre that provides community activities, particularly for the youth.

What you hope to achieve

To collaborate and work cohesively with trustees, other organisations and the exceptionally creative centre manager to positively benefit the families in the local area.

Which skills and areas of expertise do you bring to the charity?

Education is Nadia’s area of competency although she also has also completed a variety of courses including Parent Support Leader, Mental Health First Aider, Peterborough Champion for survivors of domestic violence, TESOL trained
