An informal, weekly group for everyone, with a wide range of exciting activities and events. We've done mosaic making, painting, indoor archery, a Christmas afternoon tea, health & wellbeing, poetry workshops, acting, indoor curling, gardening, boccia, bingo, meditation, crafts, and a range of fascinating talks.
It's FREE to attend, and we guarantee you a warm welcome, along with tea and cake.
Supported by a grant from the Council's Integrated Communities Fund.
Every Thursday between 1400-1600.
Ladies' Craft Group
An informal, weekly group of women, who come together to kit, sew, and natter over a cuppa. The perfect way to make new friends and enjoy some company, and it's FREE to join. Just bring your craft materials with you.
Every Wednesday between 1030-1200.
Daily, Mon-Fri 0900-1730, we now have our very own micro-library, with books generously loaned to us by the lovely people at Vivacity Libraries, and others donated by residents, near and far.
It's free to use - you don't need a library card - and you can choose to drop in here and enjoy a quiet read, or you can borrow a book or two to take home (all we ask is that you bring them back later).
We hold storytelling sessions for children, too. Look out for details of when these are taking place. We love books!
Barnardos Stay & Play
Every Tuesday morning, between 0945-1115, The Centre hosts FREE drop-in sessions. These provide a safe and stimulating learning environment in which parents/carers can play with their children and have fun learning together. These sessions focus on developing the child's language and literacy, in preparation for school. For further information, contact Claire Webb
The Centre also accommodates the very successful Beeches Pre-school, which has its own management committee. The Pre-school has an excellent Ofsted inspection report. Most Pre-schools take children from the age of 2 years and 6 months until they start primary school. Please speak with Rachel Casbon, Pre-school Manager, for further details.
